The Wellsville Mile

On Tuesday, May 13th, Tanner ran in the Wellsville Mile. All of the 4th and 5th graders from about 7 elementary schools (on the South end of Cache Valley) train to run a mile in Wellsville every May. All of the kids run and they break them up into three heats for girls and three heats for boys. Tanner ran in the 3rd heat and ran the mile in 7:15. He came in 42nd place overall. Last year he ran it in 7:19 and came in 32nd! (there are hundreds of kids running). Greg worked at the event on Bike Patrol and was able to ride next to Tanner pushing him. I wasn't able to go--which was sad! I went to both of Zach's and Tanner's last year--but this year with Brynn in afternoon kindergarten, I was hoping to get her to school and then drive out to Wellsville but he finished running about the time I had to take her. If I could do it again, I would have gone out and just dropped Brynn off late! Everyone I know that could have helped me with her had a child running in the mile and was in the same predicament! Anyway--it was a beautiful day and Tanner had a fun time!

I love that Greg is riding right by him! It looks like he did a great job cheering him for you too!

That is a great idea--and a good way to get kids moving. Sorry you missed it. Looks like it was a fun time.
