Tanner's First Home Run

Tanner's team played two games this morning here in Providence. He doesn't get too excited about his superleague games anymore because his team just doesn't do well at all. They are doing much better--making plays, etc, but still have not won a game yet. It can get frustrating for Tanner. During the first game he pitched four innings and then played short stop. He did well but I think the game turned out to be his best when he knocked one over the fence. It had to have been between 200-215 feet out. He was so excited. The worst part was Greg was working at a Bike Rodeo put on by the Sheriff's Office Bike Patrol so he missed it. I'm so glad I was there to see it. I didn't even get a snapshot of it or him running the bases or anything. I had just said--I should take a picture of Tanner hitting and then stayed where I was. Oh well, he got to keep the ball and we marked it--1st Home Run May 31, 2008. He has hit a couple in the park home runs but never over the fence during a game. Way to go Tanner! He played first base during the second game. Two more weeks of superleague. I think Tanner is ready for it to end. He is happy to be playing but wishes it would have been a little different (like winning a few!). We do know someone who coaches a team the year older and he asked if Tanner will play on their Fall team--Tanner is really excited and is actually considering quitting hockey! (wow--that will take some getting used to). We'll see what happens.
