100 Things About Me...

This took me forever (like a couple of days!), but I thought I’d join in on the fun—if you’re reading this and haven’t done it—take the time to do it!

1. I am the YW President at church
2. I work part time on a grant
3. I’m going to Graduate school – in Early Intervention with Children with Visual Impairments
4. I teach training to child care professionals
5. With those things said, I love to be busy!
6. I am the mom of three boys and a little girl (14, 11, 8 and 5)
7. I feel like a taxi driver most of the time running kids here and there and everywhere
8. I have three sisters D’Lynn in Delaware, Debbi in Kansas and Diana in Mapleton
9. I hate to work in the yard, but I love a nice yard (hmmm……)
10. I used to fuss about a clean house all the time, but have learned that it’s over rated and taking it easy brings greater rewards…I still like to keep up on things, but I don’t freak out
11. I’ve joined a gym and love working out
12. I love to run and hope to run in a half marathon someday (we’ll see about a marathon??)
13. I love bike rides
14. I enjoy a nice walk—especially with someone to talk to
15. My husband works rotating shifts and life can be very hectic when he can’t be counted on or available
16. I’ve learned recently that although I have a ton of friends..I don’t hang out and visit with anyone really—I miss that!
17. I am very self conscious about my weight (especially my belly area—darn kids!)
18. I love to go out to eat—breakfast, lunch or dinner!
19. I like spring bouquets
20. My favorite candy bar is Reese’s Peanut Butter cups yum!
21. I love to cook
22. I rarely watch TV—I can’t remember the last time I sat down and enjoyed a TV show from beginning to end
23. I’m not creative when it comes to decorating—I need all the help I can get, I’m pretty “plain Jane” as far as decorating goes
24. I love to take road trips—especially to places we’ve never been before
25. I love watching my kids play sports (baseball, hockey and basketball—oh soccer now too!)
26. Nothing makes me happier than when the kids are all getting along and we’re having fun
27. I don’t really take criticism very well—I’m working on that!
28. I need to make myself more available to serve others—I get too wrapped up in my busy world and I HATE that!
29. I grew up back east—NY and MD and then moved to NM where I graduated from High School
30. I have an Associates Degree from Ricks
31. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from BYU
32. I love family reunions—even if I don’t know anyone
33. Summer is the best--- I love the change of pace here at home
34. I love to have a tan—although these days that doesn’t happen very often
35. I’m a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints
36. I waste tons of time on the computer (see here I am!)
37. I want to learn more about digital scrapbooking now that we have a new camera
38. I love learning—I don’t care if I get a job in Early Intervention or not, just the fact that I am learning something new motivates me
39. I can’t bake bread—it NEVER rises no matter what! I wish I could bake bread!
40. I have a hard time forgiving people who don’t ask for forgiveness—I’m working on it!
41. When my feelings are hurt, it usually takes a while for me to move on
42. I want to go to Hawaii someday with Greg
43. I love to stay up late and have the house to myself and do whatever I want (this only happens when I stay up late and Greg is on graveyard shift)
44. I love bagels
45. I look much younger than I am (I’ll be 40 in January)
46. “I don’t like confrontations”
47. I’m a hard worker when I put my mind to something
48. I have a 4.0 in Grad school
49. I love the last day of school just as much as the kids do—we go out for lunch and let the summer start off right
50. I dread the day we go back to school!
51. I don’t drink carbonation—I love water and sometimes a Light Lemonade
52. I really don’t love to shop—if I have the money it’s all good, but when I don’t, it stresses me out
53. I get completely overwhelmed with keeping the family running smooth sometimes (laundry, housework, grocery shopping, transporting, etc)
54. I can honestly say I love our dog, Chewie (who would have ever thought!)
55. Disneyland is my most favorite place in the world!
56. I’m a peacemaker
57. I have issues with people who think they are better than other people
58. I think serving in YW is AWESOME!
59. I love the first snowfall and enjoy snow until the middle of January-then I’m done!
60. Fall is really my favorite season, although it is much too short here in Cache Valley
61. I love living in Cache Valley
62. I’m happy that my parents live in Cache Valley now, too
63. I was a swimmer when I was young
64. I rarely dress up and go anywhere—I’m very casual and so not trendy!
65. I’ve worked in Early Childhood for over 14 years
66. My kids are my life—I love them to pieces
67. I can’t stand to be around negative people
68. I am terrified of mice
69. I read the obituaries regularly (in both the local paper and the SL paper)
70. I just finished reading the Book of Mormon again on May 10th
71. I played on our HS Tennis team
72. I am turning into a yeller—I’m not the patient mom I thought I’d be (or that I know I should be)
73. I worry about my kids a lot
74. Chocolate chip cookie dough is a huge weakness for me-yum!
75. I rarely cry—but that doesn’t mean I’m not feeling anything
76. I miss my kids being little and that chapter in our life
77. I love church music – even when it’s not Sunday
78. I fall asleep whenever I watch a movie here at home
79. I like comedies—my favorite movie is Son in Law, it makes me laugh so hard every time I see it (that and Nacho Libre)
80. I would like to travel more—I had such a great time in Chicago last November I need to get out more
81. I’m pretty laid back, but I do like things to go my way most of the time
82. I still keep in touch with my friends from all the places I’ve lived
83. We are getting ready to paint in our house—I’m so excited
84. I called the RS President I worked with once a bad word….SSH, I hate to admit it but it had to be said. I had a huge fan club afterwards!
85. I would love to be in a triathlon someday
86. I love to travel back in time with scrapbooks and see people from other chapters in my life
87. I was engaged before I was engaged to Greg
88. Greg and I dated for only 20 days before we were engaged
89. I graduated from BYU the day before we were married in 1992
90. I have missed helping in the kids school this year because I myself am back in school—maybe next year
91. I love my iPod Nano but can only really use it when I work out—it’s not nice to tune the family out now is it?
92. My favorite music is 80’s—OMD, Talking Heads, Depeche Mode, Alphaville—I think you can get an idea!
93. I do like some country music much to my kid’s dismay
94. I played the trumpet in the band one year in high school
95. I took Spanish forever—middle school, high school and college—but I still can’t really speak it!
96. I’m a tightwad—really bad!
97. I love to be with people—big family gatherings, ward parties, work parties
98. I’m a proud mom when I see Zach prepare and pass the Sacrament
99. I like to try new recipes-I love Taste of Home magazine
100.I’m a little anal when it comes to organization, although, I’ve gotten pretty lax
