Kaden Plays Catcher

Kaden has been dying to play catcher. It is just a little nerve wracking when you know there is a kid who can not see the ball coming -- sitting behind the plate catching a ball coming at 30 mph. His coach said yes and he was all smiles. He has a catcher's mitt and was so excited to be behind the plate. You can see the line his coach drew for him to stay behind. One time he actually called time out because his glasses were all messed up in the mask--he was proud of that! It was amazing--he actually caught 3 balls. He tried every time to catch or stop the ball where most of the kids just sorta squat there not knowing where the ball is when it comes over the plate. He is doing exceptionally well this year--he's hitting the ball into the outfield (which is very important if you didn't know!). It worked out well that his birthday is in June so he couldn't move up to the next league. This year he is one of the biggest and is doing great. Next year he will move up and play in the league where the kids pitch the ball--it's much more competitive than it should be in Providence, but we are not going to tell him he can't do it. He can do anything he wants to do! He is an amazing little guy and we are so proud of all he has accomplished! Way to go Kaden!

Way to go Kaden. That is a great trait to have--confidence you can do anything you want. Wish I had it sometimes.
