January

We are almost finished with the first month of the year and it has been a strange one! Our weather has really been crazy this year. The weather has been so much warmer than usual. It is strange to see grass and to go outside and not see your breath! Poor Zach can't even wear his new letterman's jacket because it isn't "cold enough". I really shouldn't complain because snow is such a pain-shoveling the driveway, driving, etc. But, I know that we need the snow in the mountains and we just aren't getting much. It actually RAINED a lot this month and caused some bad flooding in some areas. Our backyard had a little pond because there just wasn't anywhere for the water to go because the ground was frozen.

The boys are all playing Church basketball and having fun with that. Tanner and Kaden play on the Deacons/Teachers team and then they have all played on the Priest team (if there aren't enough players). Zach loves to play church ball and it is so fun to watch him. I've always thought he was a great basketball player and when he decided not to play at the HS anymore, I was a little sad. He says he has tons more fun playing church ball. He is pretty competitive and he gets into some of those games (especially the ones against RH2nd Ward).

Zach and Tanner have started Winter Workouts at the high school for baseball. They are both looking forward to try outs and the season starting. Zach's try outs are the end of February and Tanner's are the beginning of March. We will be traveling to St. George in March for a Varsity tournament--it's always fun to go to St. George because it is so much warmer there than here!

I've managed to stick to my 5 am gym time M-F all month! Wow--who would have ever thought I would be able to do that. I even met with a personal trainer last week to create my own workout, I'm excited to start on it this week. It feels so good to start my morning out with a workout and I get so much done early in the morning, I love it.

Two years ago today, I received the phone call from Cindy telling me that she wanted me to come and visit because she was told there was nothing more the doctors could do for her cancer. I will never forget that day--I am so grateful I was able to make that trip and spend a few days with her. I miss her everyday!
