YW Camp Director

Last Sunday while I was waiting for my family after church in the foyer, the 1st Counselor in the Bishopric saw me and said--"hey, I need to talk to you for a minute". My first thought was, "oh good, they are going to release me from one of my two callings". I am currently serving as the Scout Committee Chairman and a Sunbeam teacher. I knew they wouldn't release me from the Sunbeam teacher because we just started a new year and that is so hard on those little ones. So, I confidently went in to sit down thinking this would be easy....ha ha!! He proceeded to tell me that someone had requested my "services" and then called me to be the YW Camp Director. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? This is not something that excites me in any way. It actually causes me major stress. I am NOT creative when it comes to planning these types of things. I told him that I would never say no, but that I'm not really good at this. Then he said, "well, you were the YW President and went to Camp lots of times" ha ha--yeah right, I had wonderful camp directors and assistants who did a superb job! So, yesterday, they sustained me and I now have three callings. Really? There isn't anyone else who could have done a better job? (Yeah!!). I was asked a few times if I'm excited--my honest answer is NO. I don't mind girl's camp, really. It's not that, it's the planning that stresses me out....COMPLETELY! Also, all the girls I worked with when I was the President have moved on. I guess some of the Laurels were Beehives when I left so there are a few. Big SIGH......!! Camp is in June, the place is already picked out and it's not too far away so that is good. It's going to be a busy Spring/Summer for us. Zach is graduating, there will be baseball games Tu, W, Th and Fri between both Tanner and Zach, planning girl's camp (erg), we are also going on the Trek in July and Greg and I will be Ma's and Pa's.......hmmmm. Here goes nothing :-)
