Zach is having a fun time playing football this year. It is a new thing for us since none of the boys have ever played (Kaden really wants too--we missed sign ups this year so next year is his turn!). Since Zach has never played, he has the opportunity to play both JV and Varsity. He plays a lot in the JV games, although we have only been able to get to a few of them. On Friday night at the Varsity game, he got in for two plays. It was so exciting---but I was nervous! He cracks me up when he tells us about it. He typically goes in on kick off playing defense---well on Friday night the coach sends him in on offense. He said he yelled at the kid next to him "what do I do?" and the kid said "just stand there and don't move" so after the ball was snapped and the play was moving, Zach is still standing there!!! ha ha He then ran over and had a nice block that helped them score a touchdown (however there was another illegal play that called it back). Zach is a good sport and is just having fun with it. I'm proud of him for trying something new that is actually hard---most of those boys have been playing for years and have known the plays for awhile.
Greg has been working like crazy around our house. We have this area in our backyard that year after year becomes a huge weed patch--it is so overwhelming and we just let it go because we never have the time to take it on due to baseball. So a few weeks ago (and after making the boys spend a few hours a week working), Greg tackled it. It was too big of a job for the boys, I mean the weeds were two feet tall or more and their roots were the same deep!! It looks AWESOME out there!!! He worked so hard and I'm so thankful. I've always wanted it cleaned up but I knew I couldn't do it and it would take so much time. He has also been organizing things in the garage, painting touchups and fixing the spot downstairs that got ruined after our sprinklers flooded last year.....I appreciate all of his hard work, it makes everything look so nice around here.
