Anyone that knows Kaden at all knows he loves the Cubs. He has loved them since he was old enough to say he had a favorite team (and we don't know where he got it from either, we don't know any Cubs fans!). He loves Derrek Lee, Aramis Ramirez, Alfonso Soriano and Carlos Zambrano. In fact, I think he's been Derrek Lee for Halloween at least 4 times (and plans to be again this year)!! He had so much fun this season checking the Cubs stats online on a regular basis and watching highlights on ESPN. He was even able to catch a lot of games on TV since they were good enough to be aired!! There was even some sibling competition going on because Tanner is a big Cardinals fan and both teams are in the same division. This was finally the year--the year for the Cubs. The Cubs haven't won a World Series since 1908. Kaden was so hopeful that this was their year. They had the best record in the National League. Well, the first round of the playoffs, the Cubs played the Dodgers and it didn't go well at all. The Dodgers swept them 3-0. Kaden watched every game and cried real tears at every game! The last one was the saddest. We have had more fun watching him watch the Cubs this year. All we can say is--there's always next year! A friend of Greg's gave him some Cubby Bear Rootbeer that he got at Wrigley Field. Kaden has been saving it all season in hopes of drinking it when they played in the World Series. I wonder how long it will last!! We are sorry, Kaden! We love your passion for baseball and your constant love of the Cubs...he has never wavered--even when the Cubs were .... not so good!

Bummer- Sorry Kaden, but such has been the life of Cubs fans for over 100 years- the hope for next year.
What a disappointment! I'm sure that drink will last for awhile. :)
Don't give up on the Cubs--there's always next year. I like the Cubs too.
