On Wednesday afternoon, a couple fires started up on the mountain just east of our house. They haven't confirmed what happened, but rumor is the power lines snapped and started the fires. They started around 5:00 pm and our power went out. The power was out until about 3:30 am. This picture doesn't show many of the flames, but there were some big flames prior to this picture being taken and then when it was dark we could see lots of little hot spots on the mountain. They came around telling us we wouldn't have power until about 10 am or possibly 48 hours...we were happy to wake up to power. The kids (Zach, Tanner and Kaden) slept outside with a bunch of the neighbor kids. You can see to the right of the picture the neighbors gathered outside to watch---there wasn't anything else to do but hang out outside. Luckly there was some cloud coverage and it was pretty cool outside.
