When I was younger, I thought time went so slow. It was painful to wait for Christmas--I thought it would never come. Now that I'm an adult, time just flies by. This year was no exception! I think we had a good year. We reached a lot of milestones this year and they came and went and here we are!!
Greg: Turned 44 this year. He changed callings a few times this year and is now the Emergency Preparedness Specialist (perfect job for him!) Hiked the Tetons in August. Got braces off in June. Went to lots of MLB games (A's and Braves). Watched lots of high school and Legion baseball games. Threw the ball with the boys for hours.
Denise: Turned 43 this year (but is about to turn 44). She went to Girl's Camp (and gets to go again...), she coached YW Volleyball and is about to start coaching YW Basketball. She taught sunbeams (and is still teaching sunbeams). She works, does the laundry, makes the meals, cleans the house, gets everyone where they need to be, etc. There is just never a dull moment around here! (and when there is, she enjoys reading a book!). She got to take THREE Praxis exams for her teaching license upgrade--there is a positive tone to that, but it really is sarcastic!!
Zach: Graduated from High School, had a great Senior year Baseball Season, was chosen to play on the 4A All Star team. Was picked All State 1st Team Pitcher and All Valley 1st Team Pitcher. He started working at Icon. He has completed his mission papers and is waiting to get clearance on his foot surgery (papers will probably go in February 1st).
Tanner: Turned 16 this year--got his driver's license--started at Mountain Crest. He earned his Eagle Scout this year, too. He loved every minute of playing Freshman baseball and then summer Legion ball on the A and AA teams. He is very excited for baseball to start up again!! He hangs out with friends and is working with a private baseball coach on hitting and pitching. He made the honor roll his first trimester this year and is currently on it for the second trimester.
Kaden: Turned 13 this year--he started at the 8/9 Center and got a 3.9 on his first trimester report card. He was also chosen as Student of the Trimester in Spanish!! He does a great job in school. He has been enjoying playing basketball with his friends on the South Cache Bulldogs. He loves going to the church to shoot hoops with his brothers. Kaden recently earned his Life and is working towards his Eagle. He likes to hang out with his friends, but when there is no one to hang out with--he does a great job entertaining himself!
Brynn: Turned 10 this year. She started playing Club Volleyball and is really enjoying it. Greg helps coach so they get to spend some time doing something together. She loves to play with her friends. She enjoys Activity Days, playing on the iPad and being with Mom!
Family Vacations this year: St. George baseball tournament in March, Spring Break trip to Sacramento and San Fransisco, Legion baseball tournament in Lewiston, Idaho (Greg, Tanner and Kaden), Greg and Zach Atlanta Braves Trip, Greg, Zach, Tanner, and Kaden Oakland A's playoff trip, Springville to spend time with cousins and family after Christmas.
We had a great year. We spent a lot of time together as a family. We treasure the time we have together because we know our time is limited! Our kids are growing up and moving on! We look forward to a great 2013 with Zach's mission call, Tanner's baseball season and more family times!
