July is Flying By!

I can't believe it is almost the middle of July already!  This summer has really been quite busy--in fact, if someone were to ask me how my summer was going, I'd have to say-what summer?  I feel like I have been too busy to enjoy the "relaxed schedule" of summer.

I work for the State on a teacher contract--I have to work my contracted hours by July 20.  Normally, I have worked the required amount of hours by now and I am just coasting through working what I "have" to.  Not this year--in December they changed my number of hours and I have not had the caseload to keep those hours up.  It has been very stressful for me.  I'm down to my last week and luckily, I have some personal time left to use to make it work out!  Shew--

Because I was so behind with hours and there were some things I could work on, I stayed home from the big baseball trip to Lewiston, Idaho.  Zach was also starting a new job that week so he, Brynn and I stayed home and Greg, Tanner and Kaden made the trip to Northern Idaho.  Turned out to be a "not so great" trip.  The town was yucky, it stunk and it was HOT.  There was only one baseball game per day and not much else to do.  Greg and the boys took some time to explore the area--they drove to Pullman, WA to see Washington State University and checked out their football and baseball fields.  Thre rest of us at home--worked, played (Brynn with friends, Brynn and I at the pool and Zach with his friends).  We celebrated the 4th of July at the Hyrum Parade and then out at my parents for a barbecue.  It was a pretty calm, but fun day.

Everyone is back home now and we are now preparing to go on the Trek to Martin's Cove, WY.  Greg and I are Ma's and Pa's and Zach and Tanner are coming along in our family.  Kaden is going to Scout Camp at New Fork in WY and Brynn will be staying with her friend, Jessa, and then my parents.  It has been crazy getting things ready for the Trek--I still need to get a flag made for our handcart--UGH.  I'm hoping the girls in our family can help me out with this one!  We leave on Wednesday, July 18 and get back on Saturday, July 21.  Maybe then---I can relax and enjoy my summer :-)

PS  Tanner passed his Drivers test yesterday so he can go and get his license on August 28!  Way to go, Tanner!
