Zach was chosen to be on the State All Star Team! I got a phone call right before the Skyline State game that Zach was chosen to be on the team. The way the teams are made is first--the coach submits names of three (I think) players from their team that they nominate. Then all the coaches in the region vote on 9 total players. The players with the most votes make the team! They had a banquet on Friday, June 1st in Ogden that Greg and I went to with him and then they played a game between the North and the South 4A All Star Teams. The game was played at Lindquist Field in Ogden. My parents came to watch along with Tanner and Kaden--Brynn stayed back with a friend--another game was just too much for her to bear :-) Zach and two of his teammates--Trace Hansen and Branson Bowler were chosen from Mountain Crest. There were also three players from their rivals, Sky View and then two from Logan. He had a great time playing with them. He played right field two innings and then pitched two innings. Every player gets to bat in these games--he had an RBI ground out and a single. He played great! It was fun to watch him play in this game because I wasn't nervous at all :-) Typically, I am a nervous wreck when he pitches. It was fun to watch him play more relaxed too (and to see him strike out a few guys who just could not hit his famous curve ball!).
