Kaden studied Utah this year in 4th grade. For the end of year project, they had to do an oral report on a county of their choice. Kaden chose Carbon County because that is where my parents are from. To prepare for his poster, we went over to Mom and Dad's and he got to pick out some cool pictures taken in the coal mine down there with my grandpa in the pictures. Dad also had some cool things to take and display. He also had to make a float (like you would have in a parade) about the county. All of the classes had a parade to show off their floats and then did a little program singing songs about Utah History. It was a fun culmination of their studies this year.
