Fall Ball

Zach started playing Fall Ball this week. He is playing on a baseball team with seven of the players on his other team and four older kids. They are playing in the 17/18 year old league. He is so excited to be playing baseball again before basketball starts. He was worried about going up against the older, faster pitchers, but he did great. He even pitched five innings in the first game and he pitched well. One of the guys he struck out was their number one batter. He had a beard!! The team was huge, most of them Seniors. I wonder if he knows he was struck out by a 14 year old!! They played against Box Elder the first game and lost and then played against Ogden the second game and won. It was such a beautiful day to watch baseball, too. Fall ball will last six weeks so here we go again--double headers every Saturday for six weeks. We love it though, especially where the others are not involved in anything at the same time. Tanner is still deciding on what he will do this year: hockey or basketball. Hockey registration is Sep 17 so he has to know by then. I asked him tonight if he knew yet and he is leaning towards basketball, so we'll keep you posted. I ask myself what do I want him to choose---and I don't know! I love to watch him play hockey, it's such a fun, exciting sport---but then again--they travel so far for games and it will be nice to not do that anymore. Plus, it's not a cheap sport to play, that's for sure!

We have survived the first weeks of school and everyone is doing well. I am still not quite into a routine with my classes yet balancing out when to do my readings/homework and when to do mom things. I have been staying up until midnight every night doing homework and I think that has to change. I am loving my Braille class that is online. I've worked ahead so I don't have anything pressing to do for that. I also have a Parenting class--that is going to be the one to ruin my 4.0 GPA! It's really tough, but I'm hanging in there. The other class is a Special Ed Preschool Methods and Strategies class. It's not too bad at all with all of my preschool experience...it's just learning how to incorporate the special ed part that will be tough. I'm doing okay in there though, thank goodness.

Wow--you guys stay busy with sports all year round! That's kind of funny--a 14 year old striking their best guy out. So...are you working towards a degree? I think I missed that part. It's a hard to balance school and family (from what I hear)--good luck!

I'm so sad that you are so busy with school! It will be worth it, right?

Zach is amazing! What a thing to be proud of...a 14 year old playing with seniors and then to strike one out. Everyone better watch out when he's a senior!

It's so easy to change the background and stuff. Yours is soooo cute. I just get bored with mine.
