Providence All Star A Team

We got a phone call this afternoon from an All Star coach for Tanner. He made the Providence All Star A team! Wow, we are so proud of him. The bad news is, he won't be able to play with them because we will be in Seattle. There are two teams (usually) an A and B team. He plays in a league with 11 and 12 year olds so the fact that he made the A team as an 11 year old is quite impressive. He doesn't know he made the team yet because he is at Scout camp. We have already discussed the possibility of him making an all star team and not being able to play. He is very excited to go to Seattle so I think he'll be okay. Just knowing he was picked is an honor!

We went over to watch his Phillies team play in the championship game last night. They were down 2-0 when we got there...the final score was 6-4 White Sox. It was a sad loss, we were on a come back and had two on base with a strong hitter up at bat. He hit the ball hard right to the second baseman who just had to take the ball and step on second base and it was over. Oh well, they earned 6 unearned runs (a lot of errors on our team). I just ask myself, how would it have been if Tanner was here (they had to call up two kids from the minors to play with them and ran out of pitchers)?

We miss Tanner but hope he is having a great time. This is the longest he has ever been away from home.
