Fall is Here (and so are the MLB playoffs!)

Tanner is doing awesome.  I can't believe he never had any pain--he is totally off any type of pain meds and has been for a week and a half now.  He is back at school and trying to catch up on everything he missed.  His teachers seem to be supportive, so hopefully his grades won't suffer too much.

You know it is fall when there are playoff baseball games on daily at our house (no different than the regular season though).  We have some sad ones here--Kaden because the Cubs will never be in the playoffs and had absolutely no chance again this year.  Greg and Kaden because the A's got beat out by the Detroit Tigers in the first round and then Zach because the Braves got beat out by the LA Dodgers in the first round.  Tanner is a happy one because the Cardinals are still in it playing against the Dodgers now in the second round (I know it has a name, but I don't know what it is ha ha).  Zach said in Tanner's email not to even mention Cardinals or he was going to do something to him from New Zealand--ha ha.

This week is UEA break or some districts call it Fall Break.  We are going to Island Park to stay in our friend's cabin and get away.  We hoped to spend a little time in Yellowstone, but it is closed due to the government shut down and I don't see that opening up any time soon.  Fingers crossed.  We are sure we will find other things to do--day hikes, go to Mesa Falls, play some games, watch some movies and just hang out and enjoy being away for a bit.

We love fall at our house--not just the weather changing and the fall colors, but also because the holidays are just around the corner.  It will be so different this year without Zach, but we are looking forward to talking to him on Christmas (although it will probably be Christmas Eve for us).  We found out in his most recent email that we will not be able to Skype with him like we hoped because not every Elder is able to have access to that so it has to be fair---darn!
