Last Day of School

Yesterday was the official last day of school---but I think the high school was done a few days ago!  Tanner didn't even go yesterday and just went in and out on Thursday.  Kaden just has yearbook signing yesterday and Brynn finished up fifth grade with a civil war reenactment.  For some reason, I got out of going to that for the others!  They didn't do it when Zach was in 5th grade, Tanner wasn't really into it at all--I thought he didn't go that day but he said he did and he didn't take water balloons, he just used everyone elses (ha), Kaden did it, but I couldn't go for some reason so this year, I knew I needed to be there (especially when Brynn asked if I was coming and then proceeded to say, "that's what parents do").  I didn't mind going, actually, I love to be at the school supporting my kids.  It just changes as they get older and they don't want you there!  For example, last week, Tanner was invited to an awards ceremony and we were also invited to be there.  Tanner told me that I didn't need to come and he even said he didn't even want to go!  ha

Brynn was on the Gray--Confederate side.  They divide the 5th grade into Gray and Blue and they have to wear that color.  They are each supposed to bring 30-50 water balloons and then they reenact about 6-7 different battles during the Civil War.  When they fire--they throw about 4-5 water balloons at the other side and if/when they are hit they have to go down.  It was fun--she had a fun time.

Before the reenactment, they had a little awards ceremony.  Brynn received the Silver Volunteer Service Hour award.  She worked hard in the Panda Power Club doing service and attending their meetings and activities.  She did between 75-99 hours of service this year!  Her goal was 100 to receive the gold, but she didn't quite make it!

Now, it's on to middle school!  Wow, I have mixed feelings but took it pretty well yesterday!  She is happy and excited to move on.  All of the kids did well this year--Tanner is a Junior now, Kaden a Freshman (wow) and Brynn a 6th grader.
