Spring 2012

We are right in the middle of the crazy season for us!  This year seems a little more crazy than most because we have Zach playing Varsity (his games start at 3:30) and Tanner playing Freshman (his games start at 4).  You can see the obvious problem here---if Varsity is home and they both have games that day, then Freshman are away and vice versa.  We have been doing a great job (I think) in balancing between the two.  Often times, Greg will be at one game and I am at the other.  I don't think there have been very many where we had no one there.  The boys are both doing awesome (of course, I'm their Mom and have to say that!).  Varsity is 4-1 in region.  They are tied for 1st with both Logan and Sky View so that makes for some pretty intense games.  I don't really like those ones---well, I like them at the end when we get the Win! ha  Tanner's team is about 7-11.  I have lost track.  They struggled at the beginning and are starting to settle in and get used to playing together as a team.  There is a little difference with his age group than Zach's--Zach's team has been playing together for a long time, Tanner's has not--no superleague team or anything.  It has been fun spending time at the ball park and our weather hasn't been too bad either.  Only one cancelled game so far--that is amazing!

Zach went to Prom last night.  He asked Kim Monaco--a good friend of his.  They went on their "day date" to a trampoline place in Roy.  Then time to get ready and dinner at the Coppermill, dance and get together at a friend's house after.  He had a good time--it's kinda sad that that is his last one.

Brynn is having a great time with soccer this year.  She had a great game yesterday--she scored 5 of the 8 goals for her team.  This is huge when you consider that last year they did not win a game and only two goals were scored all season (by Brynn).  Same coach and a few of the same kids this year--but they are playing so much better.  They are learning to pass, spread out and execute when they are close to the goal.  I was so proud!  (of course I didn't have my camera -- had set it out but then forgot it due to a crazy morning).

We are getting down to the last weeks of school (5 1/2).  In some ways, I'm so excited and yet others, I'm really sad!  I'm really sad that Zach is graduating and moving on to bigger and better things.  Our family is changing and even though change is good--it is also very hard.  It is funny that I can look forward to all of the changes one minute and then just tear up and get sad the next!  I love that kid and know that he has a bright future ahead.
