HaPpY BiRtHdAy, BrYnN!

Brynn's birthday was on July 24th--I can't believe she is 9 years old already. My baby is growing up! We went to Victor, ID for the weekend to stay in a cabin with some of our friends. We let Brynn open all of her gifts but the "biggie" on Friday evening before we left. She was happy with her gifts--a pink camelback of her own to use on hikes and bike rides, an ipod charger for her room and the car and a new swim towel. On Saturdaythe 23rd, we got up early and went to SL for Zach's first State Tournament game after packing up for a weekend up in Victor, ID. They won the game 4-2 and then we drove up to Victor (a nice 4 1/2hour drive). It was a pretty drive AFTER Idaho Falls! ha We were all so happy to get there--our friend's, the Van Yperens were there already. Tanner wasn't with us--he went with Shannon back to Sacramento for a week and a half (we miss him like crazy). So, at the cabin, everyone had someone to "hang out" with. Zach and Lacey, Kaden and Jared, and Brynn and Halle. It was extra fun with Harriett, their grandma and our neighbor, there too.

That evening we went out for burgers and then to the Drive In and saw Mr. Popper's Penquins (cute show). It was so cold, so we hurried back to the cabin to build a fire and get ready for bed. We stayed up chatting and the kids started a scary movie (not sure they all finished it).

On Sunday, we woke up and celebrated Brynn's birthday. The Van Yperens were so nice and decorated the table and got birthday hats and a cake and ice cream. She was so happy and excited. We brought one gift up with us. She couldn't wait to open it--it was wrapped in a paper towel roll, she was so confused about what it could be. She opened it first and was so excited to find a paper rolled up inside saying that her gift was two tickets to the Taylor Swift concert in September. She can't wait for her date with Dad. She also got some play doh and a cute little notebook. After breakfast and getting us all ready for the day--we drove into Jackson Hole. We thought it would be fun to take a little day hike, but the day got away, it was hot and everyone was ready to head back to the cabin and have a barbecue. We stopped in Victor to get a famous shake at the Emporium-yum. Back at the cabin we had a barbecue, went for a walk, had birthday cake and played some card games. We had a great day!

We headed home Monday for swimming lessons and Zach's second tournament game in SL. It was a great weekend and I think Brynn would agree that she had a great birthday!

(Wow, I forgot what a pain it is to upload pictures to blogger and put them in order, forget it, this is all you get--ha ha!)

She is seriously 9?! Wow--time flies. I'm glad she had such a fun birthday weekend. Too bad she didn't get to try out that new camelback on a hike near Jackson. :)
